The Gokyo Lake trek is an enchanting trip into the heart of the Everest region that can be a great alternative to the classic Everest Base Camp trek. This 12-day journey winds through beautiful Sherpa settlements, tranquil glacial lakes and stunning Himalayan scenery. The Gokyo Lakes Trek ascends to a maximum height of 5,357m at Gokyo Ri, with trekkers reaping a panoramic view of four 8,000m peaks — Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.

The trek starts with an adventurously short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and an ascent through the Dudh Koshi Valley into Sagarmatha National Park. It continues from Namche Bazaar, the colourful heart of the Khumbu, but branches off into the Gokyo Valley. This is where you’ll experience the stunning turquoise waters of Gokyo Lakes — a highlight both spiritually and visually on the trek.

Gokyo Ri is the highlight of the trek with stunning sunrise perspective over the Himalaya. The trek also includes the dramatic crossing of Ngozumpa Glacier, Nepal’s longest glacier. Compared to the Everest Base Camp there are fewer people on this trek and you get tranquillity and the same rewarding experience.

Founded in 2007, Inspiring Trek Pvt. Ltd; takes care to make your journey, easy, purposeful and fun. Our highly experienced guides and impeccable logistics guarantee an unforgettable adventure in the Himalayas.
