Detail Itinerary
After landing in Kathmandu, you will be welcome by Inspiring Trek Pvt. Ltd. who will drive you to your hotel. Spend the day at your leisure in the capital city. You will also meet with your trek leader for a briefing about the details of your trek and to check your gear.
The real adventure starts when you fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. Upon arrival in Lukla, you’ll embark on trek to Phakding and trek ing through vibrant Sherpa villages and suspension bridges and beautiful scenery.
It’s an exciting hike from Phakding to Namche Bazaar as you’ll climb steep hills and cross several suspension bridges above the Dudh Koshi River. Namche Bazaar a colorful little town, where trekkers can take a breather and acclimate for a few days.
Trek to Tengboche, through pine forests and along the ridge with panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. You will find a spiritual and peaceful atmosphere in the monastery at Tengboche.
As you make your way up, you’ll enter the Imja Valley, walking through beautiful villages with amazing mountain views. Dingboche is a great place for a rest and acclimatization.
Today’s narrow trek will lead you to Chhukung, a small settlement situated at the base of the beautiful Chhukung Ri peak. The four-day trek plays a critical part in acclimatization, as you are progressively gaining in altitude. The trail is beautiful and gives you stunning views of dramatic mountains like Island Peak and the mighty Lhotse. On the way, you’ll pass yak pastures and small stone huts en route to Chhukung.
Arrange for your stay in the village that boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Ama Dablam. You’ll want to take it easy today as your body adjusts to the higher altitude and to admire the incredible scenery. That night you can relax and get ready for the long days ahead that you will spend sleeping in tea houses.
Today, you will start heading toward Mera Peak Base Camp. The trek begins with gentle incline where you’ll start to see this terrain grow more jagged and rocky as you ascend to the higher altitudes. The trail leads you through moraines, glaciers and rocky ridges, which makes the trek more difficult but astonishingly worthwhile. The views of the surrounding peaks grow ever more dramatic as you approach Base Camp.
Base Camp is another big milestone for the Mera Peak trek. From here, you’ll make final preparations for the summit attempt. The camp itself is at a thin altitude where the air is less and rest is important — for the ascent ahead. It’s an excellent moment to take a break and acclimatize to the high-altitude environment. You will also get final instructions from the climbing guides for the push to the summit.
A key day for acclimatization, the objective today is to rest, recover and let your body adapt even more to the high altitude. Acclimatization is a vital aspect of any high-altitude climb, and it is very important to not push yourself too hard before your summit attempt.
The guides will take you on a brief walk as well on this day, possibly to Mera High Camp or so to allow your body to adapt to the lesser oxygen. Staying active is crucial, but don’t overdo it. Weather also makes a huge difference in how the day goes, with Base Camp often facing extreme cold and potential snowstorms.
Today is another vitally important piece of your ascent. You’ll set out early in the morning, embarking on the climb to High Camp. It is steep, technical and includes some glacier travel and exposed, rocky sections. As the altitude increases, the air thins and the effort required becomes more, but the views and the small victories keep with it.
Reaching High Camp is once again a big milestone in the climb because it gets you ready for the final summit push. You will sleep at High Camp, where it is much colder and the wind is often strong. The group will finalize preparations for the summit and check climbing gear to ensure they are ready for an early start the next morning.
Today is the moment you’ve been waiting for – the summit of Mera Peak! The trek starts early as you start your ascent to the top. The route is glacier travel that requires crampons and ice axes as well as rope to protect you. The initial stretch up is very steep, but as you get closer to the top, the ground is a bit easier to traverse. The summit itself is one of the most breathtaking panoramic views on the planet, with Mount Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu and other great Himalayan peaks laying out in front of you.
Summit day will not only take you to new heights but you will also be greeted with breathtaking views once you reach the top, and then slowly make your way back down to Base Camp where you will descent. The descent demands concentration, as the ground may give way, and the effects of high-altitude weariness can take hold. You’ll arrive at Base Camp, settle in, and celebrate your accomplishments.
After such a hard summit day, the descent commences. Going back down to Khothe from Base Camp is relatively easier, but you still need to be careful to ensure a solid footing, especially on the rocky and uneven areas. As you make your descent, you’ll traverse the same sections you hiked up, including glaciers and moraines. With a central mass in the warm sector, Arwen will likely feel much warmer in lower altitudes compared to higher ones, so we may get some relief from it.
Upon reaching Khothe, you’ll enjoy a peaceful evening, absorbing the scenery and feeling good about your climb. Today’s walk is a balance of relaxation and slow-moving exercise, giving your body the chance to recover from the push to the summit.
Today you will trek from Khothe back to Lukla. Compared to the previous days, it’s a simpler hike — you’re dropping down through those past trails and to the busy town of Lukla. Along the way, you’ll pass by small villages, forested trails and traverse a few suspension bridges.
After descending to Lukla, you will have some leisure time there to celebrate your climbing success. After your adventure there’s no better capper than to spend some time in Lukla kicking back with the Sherpa people and reminiscing the accomplishments of your trek.
You fly back to Kathmandu today from Lukla. You’ll get one last spectacular aerial view of the Himalayans on your flight back to the capital. When you arrive in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. This is a day for relaxing, seeing the city and hitting any sights you missed ahead of your trek.
In the evening, enjoy a celebratory dinner with the trekking team, sharing stories and reflecting on the journey.
Your time with Inspiring Trek Pvt. Ltd comes to a fitting end after unforgettable adventures in the mountains. Ltd. concludes today. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight home or extend your stay in Nepal for further exploration.
